Student handbooks for the following courses have been updated to reflect changes in Android, Apple and Windows operating systems.

General Computer Skills:

  • Windows 10 (Anniversary update): This course will show your students how to easily and quickly use the Start screen, download apps, customize their computer, add accounts, and enjoy all the latest features in no time. Use of PIN numbers for enhanced security and Microsoft Edge and are also covered.
  • Windows Performance and Maintenance: This course helps students whose computers seem slower or are taking longer to start up. It covers how how Windows 10 installs updates and sets them on the path to understanding how to clean up unnecessary files, optimize the hard drive, and maintain their computer for peak performance.
  • Introduction to the Internet: This course teaches students how to learn, find entertainment, and socialize on the Internet – and do so safely. Students also learn how many popular apps cross over from device to device.

Mobile Technology:

  • iPad iOS10: Apple’s latest release includes updates to nearly every iOS app. Students will find new and creative ways to communicate with iMessage, smarter Maps, more health-oriented features, and much more. This course is a comprehensive introduction to iOS 10 and will help them master the wealth of features to be found in this release.
  • iPhone Essentials iOS 10: This class will help students master many of the functions they need to get started including how to set up email accounts and connect to the Internet, download apps and organize them using Home screens and folders, how to take pictures and share via social media, how to use maps, and Siri. And, of course, how to make and answer calls. This course covers the latest iOS iPhone apps including Health, Wallet, and using Apple Pay. Also included, tips to make an iPhone easier to see with larger text and graphics.
  • Mobile Accessibility for Android Phones and Tablets (Nougat operating system): Android phones and tablets have settings and features that make them easier to see small text and use touch screen technology. These features also make it devices easier to use for anyone with a vision, hearing, or dexterity challenges.  This class will introduce you to options and features that your device offers to make things larger, enhance audio, add captions, and much more. This class covers Android devices with the Nougat operating system.
  • Mobile Accessibility for iPhones and iPads (iOS 10 operating system): Apple phones and tablets have settings and features that make them easier to see small text and use touch screen technology. These features also make it devices easier to use for anyone with a vision, hearing, or dexterity challenges.  This class will introduce you to options and features that your device offers to make things larger, enhance audio, add captions, and much more. This class covers Apple devices with the iOS 10 operating system.
