The news this morning is good if you are one of the millions of Windows users that didn’t appreciate Microsoft taking away the Start menu in Windows 8. It’s expected that an update later this year, not the one due out this month however, will feature a Windows 7 style Start menu that also has Metro-style tiles.
The update was announced at the Microsoft Build developer conference Wednesday. Other updates to look for in future updates include the introduction of Cortana, a voice-powered personal assistant similar to Siri, and Metro apps that run in traditional windows in the desktop environment.
