Windows 10
Windows 10 is the most popular personal computer operating system in the world. Microsoft will continue to support Windows 10 until 2025 with security updates, but no new features will be added. As of October 2023, Windows 10 had a market share of over 70% of Windows users worldwide. Adoption of Windows 11 has been slow, in part, because many computers lack the hardware Microsoft requires for the update.
Instructor information
This course is designed as an introduction to features and settings that every Windows 10 user needs to know. Topics include how to use the Start menu, download apps, create user accounts, and much more.
Note that Microsoft feature support for Windows 7 ended in 2015, and that extended support, including security updates, ended January 2019. Using Windows 7 is risky, as security holes are no longer being patched. Mainstream support for Windows 8.1 ended in January of 2016. However, Microsoft will continue to offer security updates until June of 2023. However, Microsoft is not supporting Office 2019 or later on anything but Windows 10.
